QCFC is Hiring a Program Assistant

QCFC is seeking a full-time Program Assistant for its facility in the heart of Iqaluit. In conformance with Article 23 of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement, preference will be given to Inuit applicants. Housing is not available.

Program Assistant Job Description:

With the support of the Kitchen Manager and the rest of the staff, the Program Assistant is responsible for a wide range of tasks that will vary over the course of the development of the Qajuqturvik Community Food Centre. The Program Assistant will be responsible for:

Helping the Kitchen Manager to cook and serve the Community Meal

Helping the Kitchen Manager with meal service, food boxes, and other food access programs

Attending meetings as required

Maintaining a professional standard of conduct, and communicating positively with all people at QCFC

Promoting a culture of health and safety in the organization

Upholding and promoting QCFC values in the community

Compensation

$25/hour, with possible pay raises

$2500 Inuktut bilingual bonus

Full health and dental benefits (employer-paid premiums)

Matching RRSP

3 weeks annual vacation, increasing each year of steady employment

5 days paid Indigenous cultural leave

1 week paid leave during Christmas closure

Paid sick days, accruing at 1 day per month
